Marvel Actor’s Lawsuit Withdrawn

Is he in the clear?

The lawsuit filed by Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, accusing him of assault and defamation, has been dropped, according to court documents filed in New York on Thursday.

Majors, who gained recognition for his role in Creed III, was convicted in December 2023 of two misdemeanor assault charges related to an incident with Jabbari, who claimed he attacked her in the back of an SUV. As part of the sentence, he was ordered to complete a year-long counseling program but avoided jail time. Majors has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Following the conviction, Jabbari, a British dancer, filed a civil suit in March, alleging malicious prosecution, assault, and battery during their nearly two-year relationship. She also accused Majors of defamation for publicly maintaining his innocence, including statements that he had never assaulted a woman.

In Thursday’s brief filing, it was announced that “all claims against Defendant … are hereby dismissed with prejudice,” meaning the case is closed, and each party will bear its own legal expenses.

Jabbari’s lawsuit had claimed that Majors had repeatedly called her a liar, specifically denying any physical abuse and attempting to portray her as a “crazy liar” rather than a victim of domestic violence. Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, had stated at the time that her client was preparing to file counterclaims.

Majors, best known for his role as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was set to reprise his role in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2026. However, following his conviction, Marvel severed ties with him.

Representatives for both Jabbari and Majors have not yet commented on the dismissal of the lawsuit.

In June, Majors received the Perseverance Award at the Impact Awards in Hollywood. During his acceptance speech, he acknowledged his flaws, saying, “I’m imperfect. I have shortcomings — I acknowledge them.”
