Former President Drops Bombshell On ‘The View’

He knew the 2024 outcome.

In a recent interview on ABC’s The View, former President Joe Biden discussed the 2024 election results, stating he wasn’t surprised by Donald Trump’s victory over Kamala Harris. He affirmed his belief in Harris’s qualifications but attributed the loss partly to low voter turnout. Biden suggested that had he remained in the race, he likely would have won, emphasizing that Trump received significantly fewer votes than in their previous matchup in 2020.

Trump secured victory by reclaiming several key battleground states that he had lost in the last election, including Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, as well as Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia. These wins helped him take both the Electoral College and the popular vote—something no Republican had done since 2004. Despite this, Biden downplayed policy shortcomings and argued that Harris faced a barrage of sexist attacks that undermined her candidacy.

When asked about comments Harris made during the campaign, Biden distanced himself from certain remarks while stressing that she needed to make her own decisions. He acknowledged that disagreements were part of their working relationship and that she brought her own voice to the administration. Internally, Harris’s campaign staff admitted that their data never showed her ahead of Trump at any point.

Post-election analysis from Democratic strategists pointed to inflation, immigration concerns, and Harris’s perceived focus on cultural rather than economic issues as key reasons for her loss. Biden, however, avoided these specifics during the interview, instead highlighting broader societal shifts and the lingering effects of the pandemic as factors in the election outcome. He confirmed ongoing communication with Harris and said she is weighing her future in politics, including a potential run for California governor.
