Surprising Trade Deal With Major Global Power Revealed

Trump critics are stunned.

President Donald Trump announced early Thursday that the United Kingdom has become the first major nation to finalize a new trade agreement with the United States. In a post on Truth Social, Trump described the deal as a “full and comprehensive” agreement that will strengthen the long-standing ties between the two countries. He expressed excitement about the deal, stating, “This should be a very big and exciting day for the United States of America and the United Kingdom,” and revealed that a press conference would take place at the Oval Office later in the morning.

Trump emphasized the significance of the UK being the first country to reach a trade agreement under his administration, noting the historic alliance between the nations. He also hinted that more trade deals were in the works, with negotiations on other agreements reportedly in advanced stages. “Many other deals, which are in serious stages of negotiation, to follow!” he added.

Earlier in the year, Trump hosted UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the White House, and the UK government described the meeting as one of the most significant between a British prime minister and a U.S. president since World War II. The UK Embassy highlighted the importance of the trade relationship, which is worth about $400 billion and supports over 2.5 million jobs on both sides of the Atlantic. Additionally, the UK noted that the trade balance between the two countries remains fair and mutually beneficial.

In an interview with Fox News, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent further elaborated on Trump’s trade approach, shedding light on the broader strategy behind the new agreements and their potential impact on both U.S. and global trade dynamics.
