Woman Climbs Plane Wing At Seattle Airport

Things took a dangerous turn.

A female passenger took an unconventional exit from an Alaska Airlines flight upon landing in Seattle on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on December 22, involving Alaska Airlines flight 323 at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport, according to Perry Cooper, the airport’s Media Relations Manager. During the deplaning process, the passenger reportedly became anxious and opened the emergency exit over the wing of the plane.

In her state of anxiety, the woman climbed out onto the aircraft’s wing. Emergency responders from the Port of Seattle Fire Department arrived promptly to assist her off the wing and onto the ramp safely.

The Port Police crisis team evaluated the situation and decided to transport the passenger to a hospital for further assessment. Cooper confirmed that no injuries occurred, and airport operations were not disrupted by the incident.

An Alaska Airlines spokesperson acknowledged the event, stating, “The matter was safely resolved.” The airline expressed gratitude for the swift actions of its crew and apologized for any inconvenience caused to other passengers, noting that they were working with airport officials to understand the details of what happened.
