He’s kicking off his campaign.
Vivek Ramaswamy, an entrepreneur known for his strong conservative views and outspoken stance on issues like free speech and corporate accountability, is set to launch his campaign for Ohio governor later this month. The 39-year-old businessman, who has gained national recognition for his pro-Trump position, is challenging the political establishment with a platform advocating for conservative values. Reports indicate that he has officially filed the necessary paperwork to enter the race and will begin his campaign on February 24 in his hometown of Cincinnati at CTL Aerospace Inc., followed by a speech at Axium Packaging near Columbus. Over the next two days, he will attend several events in Ohio, including stops in Toledo and Cleveland.
Before deciding to run for governor, Ramaswamy briefly campaigned for the 2024 presidential race but dropped out to serve in President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside Elon Musk. However, it is reported that he has since left DOGE to focus fully on his gubernatorial campaign.
Although Ramaswamy has yet to comment directly on his campaign, his website, funded by his “Vivek Ramaswamy for Ohio” committee, has teased a major announcement. The entrepreneur is preparing to enter the GOP primary race, where he will compete against Attorney General Dave Yost and Heather Hill. In January, former Ohio Lt. Gov. Jon Husted, initially considered a leading contender, withdrew from the race after being appointed to fill the U.S. Senate seat once held by Vice President JD Vance.
