Trachtenberg, who was 39, was discovered after police responded to a 911 call at her apartment in Columbus Place. Authorities stated that paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene, and there were no signs of foul play. The cause of death is currently being investigated by the New York Medical Examiner.

Trachtenberg gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Dawn Summers, the younger sister of Buffy, in the popular television series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” Her role left a lasting impact on fans, and the show’s production company, 20th Century Fox Television, shared a heartfelt tribute, acknowledging her talent and contribution to the series.
Aside from her iconic role in “Buffy,” Trachtenberg also made a significant mark in “Gossip Girl,” where she played the character Georgina Sparks. The show’s creators, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, released a joint statement praising her as a talented and cherished cast member who evolved from a one-season villain to a beloved character across six seasons. Trachtenberg’s performance in the 2005 film “Ice Princess” also endeared her to younger audiences, where she played an aspiring figure skater, Casey Carlyle.
