Bill Clinton, the former U.S. president, was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington on Monday for evaluation after experiencing a fever, according to a statement from his spokesperson. Angel Urena, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, confirmed that the 78-year-old is “in good spirits” and is receiving excellent care, although no further details regarding his condition were shared.

Urena also told CNN that Clinton is expected to be discharged from the hospital by Christmas Day, adding that the former president is doing well. No information was provided about the cause of the fever or whether there are any other symptoms present.

Clinton, who has a history of health issues, including a 2021 hospitalization for a blood infection and heart surgeries in the past, has remained active in public life. Earlier this year, he supported Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign and spoke at the Democratic National Convention.

In a recent interview, Clinton commented on Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential victory, noting that he wasn’t surprised by Trump’s success. He attributed it to economic struggles and societal changes, which he believes influenced the election. Additionally, Clinton released his memoir Citizen: My Life After the White House in November.
